Harrington Law, P.C. (“the Firm,” “we,” “us”) operates amyharringtonlaw.com (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what information the Site collects, how it is used, and the choices available to visitors.
Information you voluntarily provide
If you submit our contact/intake form, we collect your name, email address, phone number, address, case or matter name, your role in the matter, and a description of the services or representation you are seeking. Submitting this form does not create an attorney-client relationship and is not a substitute for a conflicts check. Do not send confidential or time-sensitive information through this form.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, we automatically collect certain technical information when you visit, such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and referring page. We use Google Analytics 4 to collect this information in aggregate, and Hotjar to see how visitors interact with pages (see Analytics, below). Our hosting provider, GoDaddy, also loads a small technical script on every page as part of its hosting platform; this is outside our control and is described further under Third-party services, below.
Cookies
Necessary cookies required for site security and core functionality operate at all times. Analytics and any other nonessential cookies operate only after you consent through our cookie banner; if you reject nonessential cookies, those tools do not load.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics (Google Analytics 4) to understand how visitors use the Site in aggregate, and Hotjar, a session-recording and heatmap tool, to see how visitors interact with our pages. Both tools operate only after you consent through our cookie banner; if you reject nonessential cookies, neither tool loads. We do not use Google Ads, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or similar advertising pixels.
Embedded content
Some pages include embedded video from YouTube. These videos do not load or contact YouTube until you click to play them; once played, they load in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com).
Third-party services
Our website intake form is processed directly by your browser: when you submit it, your browser sends the form fields to a Google Apps Script web application, which records the submission to a private Google Sheet. The submission does not pass through, or get stored on, our web server. We use Google Analytics 4 and Hotjar as described above, only after you consent. The Site is hosted by GoDaddy, whose Managed WordPress platform loads a small technical script on every page as part of its hosting infrastructure; this is not something we control through our website settings. We do not use any advertising network, CRM, or marketing-automation integration at this time.
Do we sell or share your information for advertising?
No. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising purposes.
Data retention
We retain information submitted through the Site for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, including recordkeeping and conflicts-checking obligations.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect information submitted through the Site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
California privacy disclosures
The categories of personally identifiable information we may collect are described above. We do not currently share this information with third parties for those third parties’ own marketing purposes.
Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control
We do not currently respond to browser Do Not Track (DNT) or Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. You can control whether analytics and session-recording tools run through the cookie banner shown on your first visit; your choice is stored in your browser. Children’s privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
